Arvin Temkar

I am a staff photojournalist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where I focus on general news and politics. My personal work often examines complexity, tension and hope in a multiracial, multiethnic America. Before I became a photographer I was a newspaper reporter and magazine editor.

My photography has appeared in The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, TIME, BuzzFeed, NPR, and NBC. My writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Associated Press, BuzzFeed, Boston Globe Magazine, Forbes, Food & Wine, Quartz, and USA Today.

I have a BA in communication from Boston College, an MS in magazine writing from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, and an MFA in creative writing from the University of San Francisco.
